German woman converts to Islam

Ilse Dore Marie Ghannam (75), a German origin woman, converted to Islam in Turkey to make an application to go on pilgrimage next year

Mrs Ghannam, who has been living in Alanya town of Antalya in southern Turkey, decided to change her religion and become Muslim. The German woman, accompanied by her 35-year-long spouse Şefik Ghannam, a Jordanian origin man, made her application of Wednesday to convert her religion.

Islamic materials were given to Mrs Ghannam after converting to this religion. Her name, Marie, was also replaced with Meryem. She is expected to make an application shortly in order to go on pilgrimage next year.
