Turkish pilgrims bus attacked in Syria

A bus carrying Turkish pilgrims was attacked in Syria. 1 pilgrim and a driver were injured during the attack, and 5 pilgrims were taken hostage by the attackers, who insulted Turkey and PM Erdoğan

The attack occurred while a bus carrying Turkish pilgrims was returning from Saudi Arabia to Turkey. According to witnesses, a group of uniformed people attacked the bus with guns, stones and sticks near Hama district of Syria on Monday morning. Naci Özata, driver of one the bus, received a bullet injury while Emin Doğan, one of the pilgrims, was injured with the hurled Stones. The attackers, who confiscated valuables of the pilgrims, insulted Turkey and its Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the attack.

The attacked bus arrived at Cilvegözü Border Gate later with remaining pilgrims. The injured driver of the bus was taken to Antakya Public Hospital, and the other injured pilgrim, who was reported to be in good condition, was taken to Reyhanlı Public Hospital.
